RSR 41 – Multirace Key Biscayne Trilogy #2 Race Results (2011)

Today was a great race but it was HOT! This was the 2011 Key Biscayne trilogy series and it was race #2 and it is run by Multirace. Multirace seems to be having problems lately on site with their registration and results. I think they need to hire some new technicians! We had to wait a really long time to get our race results and they ended up being the old fashioned printed type…. that works for me. Took 1st place in my age group and was only 3 seconds behind the guy that took masters which was an awesome feeling… can’t wait for the third race next month.

RSR 43 – Trilogy #3 Race Results – Bloody Sunday!

Today’s race was interesting to say the least. This was the Key Biscayne Trilogy series and it was race number 3. Only one more to go, which is the bonus round next month. Everything started off good today until it came time to mount my bike and I took a tumble! This is something I have practiced a hundred times but lost my concentration on race day and you will see what happens in the video.

All in all it was a decent race but it was 30 seconds slower than last months race which was a little discouraging in one aspect but then again, I was biking and running injured and I STILL made Masters and 8th overall in the duathlon… YEAH! I also got to race with Mr. Hoy, who got me started in triathlons to begin with and also met up with another Team Aquaphor member.

This is a must see video!

RSR 42 – Key Biscayne Trilogy 3 Race Prep

I can’t believe it is the third race in this series already! There is only one race left in the series and that will be the bonus round. I have been struggling with my weight a little bit over the past month and tomorrow’s race will be a couple of extra pounds heavier. I have also had some strange knee problems show up since yesterday. Maybe some IT Band issues? It is not the same knee that I had problems with earlier this year.

I have been working extra hard this month to really work on my overall time. I will be shooting for Masters in the duathlon and know who I need to beat to do it. Wish me luck!

RSR 38 – The start of the trilogy races

Tomorrow starts the first of the Trilogy racing series for me. This should be pretty exciting as it is one of the shorter sprint triathlons and should be a pretty fast race. In the past two weeks I have been coming off the “high” from the Alcatraz race….. it will be very hard to top that race, trust me. On the other hand, my competitive side loves these shorter races as that is what I am better at. Recently I have swam faster, biked faster and ran faster than I ever have before. My run endurance might not be back up to what I want it to be but it is slowly getting there.

RSR 32 – Another day in the water and travel tips

I got my workout in the freezing water today again but you know what? I am starting to get used to the temperature of the water here. Sounds crazy, I know, but there is something about it that is different than any other body of water I have swam in. I also talk about some travel tips with your bike and what to look out for this weekend in San Francisco!

RSR 39 – To Du or not to Du

Tomorrow is an exciting new race day for me. I have been trying to figure out when to start competing in duathlons and I chose tomorrow for that day. I started thinking about my last race and the weakest, for me, is my swim. I had a very specific deadline in my head and when I came out of the water 2 minutes behind schedule, it threw my entire race off…. you know how competitive I am!

In addition I have some footage of me working on my bike mount and dismount to help decrease my transition times. I am using my “Tri-Clips” for the very first time in a race.
